Integrated uses Target Zero to manage Safety, not just monitor it

Integrated, a national provider of recruitment and labour services, is leading the charge on safety education in the labour hire services industry to ensure employees return home from work in the same state as they arrived – free from injury.

Using a unique approach to safety in the workplace, aiming for zero injuries to its workforce, Integrated launched its Target Zero programme to its NSW business today at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney.

Integrated has initiated and maintained a unique programme of consultation and communication with its employees called ‘Safety Conversation Days’ where every internal employee, including CEO Brian Styles, downs tools for the day to spend time face-to-face with external employees (candidates) discussing relevant and vital safety topics.

“Target Zero is the next step forward for Integrated in achieving Zero Harm. We firmly believe that good business and safety practices are linked, and tied to the common goals of ourselves and our clients”, said Brian Styles.

Each Safety Conversation Day forms part of Integrated’s nationwide Target Zero campaign, launched in March 2009 with a target of 20 per cent injury reduction each year across all injury categories. These aims apply to Integrated’s Australia-wide network of 6,000 casual candidates employed daily across some 1,800 client sites annually.

Integrated is leading the way in the Australian workforce services industry, dedicatedly inducting and regularly monitoring candidate safety. For the past five years, Integrated has reduced lost time in injuries by 75 per cent annually and continues to reduce hazards, display safety leadership and foster client safety partnerships.

Using the Taronga Zoo’s Lion enclosure as a backdrop, Integrated clients heard from special guest speaker Paul Cutrone (Sparke Helmore) on sharing the legal benefit and burden of Safety with Integrated, similar to the way Integrated shares the safety burden with its clients.
